Silverbacks Silence Thunder!

Saturday’s forecast had a chance of thunderstorms as the London Silverbacks traveled to face the Tricity Thunder at their home field in Hamilton… yet the ‘Backs were sure there would be none of that on this night as they would proceed to dominate their Canadian sibling en route to a 19-7 victory.

The Silverbacks started out well keeping the Thunder qb on the run all night forcing turnover after turnover (7 total) including one which was returned in the 3rd quarter by DB Dennis Allcock to keep the defensive scoring streak alive at 3 consecutive games. Also getting in on the scoring was RB Nick Romaine, and K Euan Crisp. The sole Thunder score came as a result of an overzealous defense which allowed the wr to escape 3 hard-hitting defenders for a 60 yard gain.

The Silverbacks will now return home for their sole Sunday afternoon game of the season against new division opponent the Lapeer County (MI) Lions.

Scoring summary:

Rushing TD RB #19 Nick Romaine
1 XP K #7 Euan Crisp
2 FG K #7 Euan Crisp
1 interception for a TD DB #23 Dennis Allcock
