Silverbacks Receive Bye to Title Game

The Silverbacks season has been one filled with more twists and turns than a top-rated suspense novel continuing into the playoffs to provide the team with a "no-contest" victory in their semi-final round originally scheduled for this weekend. This win locks up a place as the first Canadian team to play in a North American Football League (NAFL) championship.

Yet, like every great storybook hero the team has persevered, sometimes looking more like Bruce Willis in a Die Hard flick, but still on top. At the end surviving multiple home venue changes (some appearing out of nowhere at the last minute), a missing opponent for their home-opener, and periods of injuries that would overwhelm the local emergency room. Despite it all the team has stood strong posting its best regular season record (7-2)in its young four year history and now a place in the league title game where they are the decided favourites.

Now the team will wait to play the victor of the other semi-final round, an east coast battle between the Baltimore Bay Atlantic Sharks of Maryland and the New Jersey Terminators of New Jersey. Both opponents would be a first time meeting for the Silverbacks and provide the opportunity for the "happily ever after" ending the team has worked so hard to achieve.
