London to take on the U.S in playoff battle.

When the world's largest football league announces its playoff schedule next week comprised of a possible 64 qualifiers, only one will be representing Canada. A familiar and exclusively Canadian team poised to entrench London on the international football scene, the London Silverbacks.

After finishing their season with 5 straight wins where the team outscored opponents 156-7, including knocking off the previously undefeated division champs the Detroit Diesels, it is clear the team will have a target on its back. Their 7-2 record, the best in the teams four year history, still places the team in the middle of the pack in what is considered by many to be the toughest conference of the 100+ team league and will likely have them on the road to try and make it to the league final in Vegas, November 10. A daunting task but something the team will relish as they have history on their side. A history that has seen them go undefeated on the road since August 5, 2006 despite tough playoff opponents in Ohio and Iowa.

September 29 the league will give most teams a much needed bye week before playoffs begin October 6 with a preliminary round that will decide the teams fate for the second round of the playoffs October 13.

Last year the team made it to the league semi-finals, just one game shy of a place at the title game, this year the team is back and ready to take care of unfinished business and when the smoke clears people all across the U.S will know about Canadian football and know it starts in London!
